By accessing or using Sonus (“the Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, you may not access or use the Service.

2. Description of the Service

Sonus is a music discovery, rating, and discussion platform that allows users to explore songs, albums, and artists; submit ratings and reviews; create lists; and view charts and recommendations. Sonus integrates with third-party data providers, including Spotify, to display music-related information.

Sonus does not host or stream full music tracks.

3. Eligibility and User Accounts

  • You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service.
  • Some features require creating an account.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
  • You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
  • You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information.
  • Sonus reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. User Content

“User Content” includes ratings, reviews, comments, lists, and other content you submit to the Service.

By submitting User Content, you:

  • Retain ownership of your content.
  • Grant Sonus a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, reproduce, and distribute your content in connection with operating and promoting the Service.
  • Represent that you have the rights necessary to submit the content and that it does not infringe on third-party rights.

Sonus may remove User Content that violates these Terms or applicable laws.

5. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
  • Post content that is hateful, abusive, threatening, harassing, or defamatory.
  • Impersonate any person or entity.
  • Manipulate ratings, reviews, or rankings through fake accounts or coordinated activity.
  • Scrape, crawl, or extract data from the Service using automated means.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service, servers, or networks.

6. Third-Party Services and Data

The Service relies on third-party services (including Spotify) for music metadata, images, and previews. Sonus does not control and is not responsible for the accuracy, availability, or completeness of third-party content.

Your use of third-party services may be subject to their own terms and policies.

7. Intellectual Property

  • All trademarks, logos, and branding related to Sonus are the property of Sonus.
  • Music metadata, album artwork, artist names, and related content displayed on the Service belong to their respective owners and are used for informational and discovery purposes only.
  • You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works of the Service without written permission from Sonus.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” Sonus makes no warranties, express or implied, regarding reliability, availability, accuracy, or fitness for a particular purpose.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sonus shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the Service.

10. Termination

Sonus may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including violations of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease.

11. Changes to These Terms

Sonus may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. We encourage you to review them periodically.
